Art on the Wing for teens and adults!

Saturday, November 231:00—2:00 PMIpswich Town Hall, 25 Green StreetCommunity Locations(various), 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA, 01938

Birds of prey have inspired artists from prehistoric times to the present day.  Because the Wingmasters partnership is made up of an artist and a photographer who specialize in wildlife portraits, they are keenly aware of what fascinating models birds of prey make.  The birds' appeal range from the calm majesty of the golden eagle to the elfin charm of the tiny saw-whet owl.  The challenge to artists is to capture those qualities in the media of their choice. They have designed this unique program to allow audiences to draw their birds from life.  The presentation focuses on four live birds of prey.  Each bird is displayed by the Wingmasters presenter for 10 to 15 minutes while the audience has the opportunity to draw and ask questions.  The Wingmasters presenter will point out each bird's characteristics, guiding the audience toward a fuller understanding of what defines a bird of prey.
