Peace of Art

Monday, March 146:30—8:00 PMVirtual - LiveIpswich Public Library25 North Main Street, 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA, 01938

A virtual workshop for adults to learn creative ways to reduce stress and develop visual art-based mindfulness techniques to feel an inner sense of peace.

Participants will explore simple visual art prompts at home using various art materials curated in a “make and take kit” which will be available for pickup at the Ipswich Public Library a week prior to the workshop date. Registered participants will be contacted when the kits are available.

Participants will be guided to quiet the mind and become aware of their inner world and the present moment, ultimately, to settle into a calm, imaginative space to make a ‘peace of art’. This process will allow participants to have a clearer head, creative mind and a peaceful heart. Art directives will emphasize the repetitive sensory elements of art making to decrease the stress response, develop emotional regulation skills and connect with others through a shared creative experience.

This program is facilitated by The Artful Life Counseling Center & Studio. Zoom links will be sent the day of the program.

NOTE: You must register with a valid email address to receive the Zoom meeting link. Due to the limited space and art supply kits, please cancel your registration or email Stephen Lajoie at slajoie@ipswichlibrary.org if you find that you are unable to attend so we can provide a space to someone on the waitlist.
