Join Liz Roessler for a virtual workshop on calligraphy and penmanship. All you need is Zoom, a pen, and some paper! Registration required. Zoom links will be emailed at 5pm the day of the program when registration closes. 

Liz recommends a fine tipped Sharpie or marker as well as a colored pencil for the workshop, but any pens you have at home will still work! Optional worksheets that enhance the workshop are available to pick up at the Library or can be printed for free. PDF copies will also be emailed the day of the program with the Zoom link if you'd like to print them yourself. Email Stephen Lajoie at slajoie@ipswichlibrary.org if you'd like them ahead of time.

Liz Roessler is a self-taught, professional calligrapher & lifelong “617er” with over 30 years experience. She has been obsessed with letters ever since she could hold a crayon in her hand and immersed herself in learning calligraphy as a young adult. In her 20’s, she began doing a wide variety of calligraphy work for events, menus, chalkboard signs, invitation design, certificates and custom lettering art commissions for clients.

Over the past decade, she has enjoyed “sharing the lettering love” by teaching 100’s of in-person and virtual classes to individuals, dozens of cool companies for their employees, to social groups, at museums (including the MFA and ICA), in classrooms (including Boston and Brookline Public Schools), and at colleges (including BU and Northeastern).

She has appeared many times on-location for “live” calligraphy and hand-engraving glass bottles for clients including Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Victoria’s Secret, J. Crew, Cartier, Lululemon, Eataly, Crayola, Jenni Kayne, Montblanc, Lafroaig, Shinola, Maker’s Mark, Nordstrom, LoveLop Cards, Sugarfina, L’Oreal, and Blick Art Materials.

Liz has taught classes for dozens of companies including Microsoft, Pfizer, Zappos, HubSpot, DraftKings, EF Education, Wayfair, Toast Tab, Arnold Worldwide, Mullen Lowe, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, and The Harvard Club.
