Banned Books & Kiss-Ins: Efforts to Stop Public Displays of Queerness:

From early Puritan laws regulating clothing to 20th-century attempts to censor films, plays, and books, attacks on LGBTQ+ expression aren’t new. Despite efforts to closet school teachers, limit queer publications, and enforce cis-gendered and heteronormative expression, the queer community has survived and thrived. Join Joan Ilacqua for a presentation and conversation about the LGBTQ+ community’s efforts to combat censorship and demand visibility.
