Armchair Traveler: Northern Sicily

Tuesday, January 2610:00 AM—12:00 PMVirtual - LiveIpswich Public Library25 North Main Street, 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA, 01938

Join Reference Librarian Jeff Klapes, ‘The Traveling Librarian,’ for another of his popular armchair travel presentations via Zoom. This series highlights travel photography and stories and travel tips about destinations around the world.

This month we'll visit northern Sicily, at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, and influenced by many different cultures throughout its history. While a part of Italy, Sicily has a distinct culture, dialect, cuisine, and attitude that makes it a place apart. We'll start in Taormina, climb Mount Etna, and follow the northern coast to Palermo, the capital, and some of the beautiful towns of the west coast.

Jeff Klapes is the Head of Reference Services at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
