All Ages Drop-in Gaming: Old School Video Games

Friday, July 81:00—4:00 PMCollins Meeting RoomIpswich Public Library25 North Main Street, 25 North Main Street, Ipswich, MA, 01938

Come one and all to try out some video games of the past!

Whether you are new to the world of electronic gaming or an old pro, you are welcome to celebrate International Video Game Day at the Ipswich Public Library. Teen Librarian Katy Wuerker will have the following gaming systems from her own personal collection set-up for you to try out: Nintendo 64, Play Station 2, X-Box (the original), Sega Genesis, Nintendo Gameboy (original), Nintendo Gameboy Color, and the Pre-Computer (try out hangman or test your typing skills!).

Please remember that:

  • Children younger than 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Some games are harder than other and may take longer to load or beat a level.
  • These are OLD machines! Glitches may happen and you must be patient.
  • It's for fun! Getting frustrated? Try a different game or take a quick walk to cool down and restart.
  • Take turns. This is for all to enjoy and sample, not for a full playthrough of these games.

No registration is required. This event is free and for all ages (although not all games are meant for all ages so adult supervision is recommended for younger gamers). Game on!
